The Skyspan Skylight Access Hatchway system is a robust and well-built solution, designed to provide safe and convenient access to roof spaces for various applications while offering natural lighting and ventilation to the building.
Engineered to fit all types of Australian roofs, including corrugated, metal decks, tile, and concrete roofs, the Skyspan Skylight Access Hatchway is constructed from durable Zincalume steel (with galvanized steel used for tile roof skylights). Additionally, it can be custom-made from materials such as stainless steel, aluminum, and copper to suit specific requirements.
The standard dome is crafted from 3mm acrylic, designed without any fixings through the glazing to accommodate thermal expansion and contraction. Both tinted and clear dome options are available for further customization.
By default, the Skyspan skylight is supplied as a non-ventilated unit, with optional passive or fan-forced ventilation available for enhanced airflow.
Designed to Australian Standard AS4285, the Skyspan skylight is backed by a seven-year guarantee, ensuring long-term reliability. Moreover, it can be tailored to meet individual needs, with a wide range of customization options available to suit any project.

Skylights should be inspected at least once per year and any build up of leaves and rubbish be removed from around the skylight. Depending on the severity of the problem, this may be needed to be performed more often.
The Skyspan skylight is normally cleaned by the elements. At least once per year, wipe over with soap and water and a nonabrasive sponge. Avoid using solvents and thinners. Dust and wipe over to ensure that any build up or caked dust is removed which could prematurely cause corrosion. Repeat as often as needed for each individual location.

Dome Options
Skyspan's Skylight Hatch offers three dome color options: Opal, Clear, and Grey Tint. It is primarily made from Acrylic, with other material types available upon request.
Lockable Latch
The skylight hatch is equipped with two internal lockable latches as a standard feature, providing an added layer of safety and security. These latches are designed to ensure that the hatch remains securely closed when needed, and for enhanced protection, they can also be fitted with padlocks. This additional locking capability is particularly useful for situations where extra security is required, giving you peace of mind that the skylight hatch is both tamper-resistant and reliable, even in more vulnerable environments.
Gas Strut Assisted
Gas struts are specifically designed to make the process of opening and closing a skylight hatch smooth and effortless. These struts provide controlled support, ensuring that the hatch can be easily lifted without excessive force and remain securely open once in place. Similarly, they allow for a slow and steady closing motion, preventing the hatch from slamming shut. By facilitating both movements, gas struts enhance the functionality and safety of the Skylight Hatch, making it more convenient to use.
Designed to insulate from the outside temperature and reduce noise penetration. The lid has a double zincalume steel skin for extra rigidity which incorporates an inner core of insulation foam.
As the premium Skyspan hatch, the MHH is a heavy duty construction designed for larger openings. To insulate from the outside temps and reduce noise penetration, the MHH incorporates the same insulated double skin lid as the MHD and a reinforced double skin frame for extra strength.
